A dedicated R&D activity on polymer membrane fabrication and applications is maintained at MEDAL, 100% affiliate of Air Liquide. Membrane separation systems offer benefits in energy consumption of separation stages with simultaneously lowering the capital expenditure with respect to more mature technologies, such as gas separation by adsorption and distillation.
